About this Cookies Policy
This Cookies Policy explains how Service Plaza (“Service Plaza”, “SP”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on serviceplaza.co.uk (the “Website”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy at serviceplaza.co.uk/privacy-policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer, phone or other device when you visit a website. Cookies can allow a website to recognise a browser, maintain a secure session, remember settings or understand how the website is used.
Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, scripts and software development kits that store information on, or access information from, a device.
2. Cookies currently used by Service Plaza
Service Plaza currently uses strictly necessary cookies associated with account authentication and security.
These cookies allow Business Users and administrators to sign in securely, maintain an authenticated session, refresh that session where necessary and protect restricted account or administration pages. The Website cannot provide those requested account functions reliably without them.
The authentication cookies are provided through our Supabase authentication service. Their names may contain a project-specific prefix and may change when the underlying authentication service is updated.
Cookie category: Strictly necessary
Purpose: Authentication, session continuity and security for business and administrator accounts.
Typical duration: Session-based or limited-duration persistent cookies required to maintain and refresh a secure sign-in. Exact duration may be controlled by the authentication provider and account session configuration.
Consent: These cookies are necessary to provide sign-in and account functionality requested by the user and cannot be disabled through a Service Plaza preference control.
3. Analytics, advertising and targeting technologies
Service Plaza uses Google Tag Manager to deploy Google Analytics, with the visitor's permission, and understand how visitors find and use the Website. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser information, referral source and interactions with Website features. We use this information to measure performance and improve the Website.
We may also use Meta advertising technologies, including the Meta Pixel, to measure advertising performance, build audiences and show more relevant advertisements on Meta services such as Facebook and Instagram. These technologies may connect Website activity with information held by Meta where the visitor has a Meta account.
Google Analytics is treated as non-essential and is not loaded unless the visitor accepts analytics through our cookie consent control. Meta advertising technologies are not currently active. If enabled later, they will also be treated as non-essential and will not load until the visitor has made the relevant advertising-cookie choice.
Cookie category: Analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising/targeting (Meta).
Purpose: Website measurement, service improvement, advertising measurement and, where separately selected, audience building and relevant advertising.
Providers: Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, and, if enabled later, Meta. Their exact cookies, identifiers and durations depend on the services and configuration in use. Google Analytics commonly uses cookies beginning with `_ga` to distinguish visitors and sessions. We will keep the consent information and cookie details shown on the Website updated when these services change.
Consent: Optional. Visitors will be able to accept or reject these categories and later withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent will prevent future optional tracking on that device, although it does not automatically erase information already lawfully processed by a provider.
4. Website links and third parties
The Website includes links to third-party websites, including listed businesses’ websites and social-media pages. When you follow a link, the destination website may use its own cookies or similar technologies. Service Plaza does not control those technologies. You should read the destination website’s cookies and privacy information.
Our server may record that a Website visitor selected an outbound business website link so that we can maintain basic operational records. This does not require us to place a non-essential advertising cookie on your device.
5. Managing cookies
You can use the Website's cookie preference control to accept, reject or change optional cookie choices. You can also use your browser settings to view, delete or block cookies. Blocking strictly necessary authentication cookies may prevent you from signing in, remaining signed in, saving an application or using protected account functions.
Browser controls vary by provider and device. Refer to your browser’s help pages for current instructions.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookies Policy when the Website, our service providers or our use of cookies changes. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
7. Contact us
If you have questions about our use of cookies, email admin@serviceplaza.co.uk.
