About these Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Service Plaza website at serviceplaza.co.uk (the “Website”) and the directory and related services available through it (the “Services”). They form a legally binding agreement between you and Service Plaza (“Service Plaza”, “SP”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
Please read these Terms together with our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy. By using the Website, creating a business account or submitting a listing, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Website or Services.
The Website and Services are intended only for residents of the United Kingdom. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, submit a business listing or otherwise use any part of the Services restricted to adults.
If you use the Services on behalf of a business or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

1. Definitions
“Business User” means an individual or business that creates an account, applies for a listing or manages a business listing.
“Customer” means a person who browses the Website or considers contacting or engaging a listed Professional.
“Listing” means a business profile published or submitted for publication on Service Plaza.
“Professional” means an independent business or professional listed on the Website.
“Services” means the Service Plaza directory, business application and account facilities, search tools and related Website functionality.
2. What Service Plaza provides
2.1. Service Plaza is an independent directory that helps Customers discover UK-based Professionals and learn about their businesses, services, working arrangements and contact options.
2.2. Service Plaza does not provide the services advertised by Professionals and is not a party to any contract formed between a Customer and a Professional.
2.3. We do not employ, supervise, direct or control Professionals. A Professional is solely responsible for its services, statements, qualifications, insurance, conduct, pricing and compliance with applicable law.
2.4. Inclusion in the directory does not amount to an endorsement, guarantee, accreditation or recommendation by Service Plaza.
2.5. We may add, alter, suspend or withdraw Website features where reasonably necessary. We do not guarantee that the Website or every Listing will always be available or uninterrupted.
2.6. Find a Service is a free search-assistance service. A Customer may tell us what they need and we will review the request and look for potentially suitable independent UK Professionals. We aim to respond within 24 hours, but this is a target rather than a guaranteed response time.
2.7. We may contact the Customer to clarify a request before searching. We will speak with the Customer before sharing their request or contact details with a Professional.
2.8. We do not guarantee that we will identify a suitable Professional, that any Professional will be available, or that an introduction will result in an agreement. Find a Service does not change the responsibilities or limitations in these Terms, and Service Plaza does not become a party to any agreement between a Customer and Professional.
3. Customer responsibilities
3.1. You are responsible for deciding whether a Professional is suitable for your needs and whether to contact or engage them.
3.2. Before purchasing services, you should carry out checks appropriate to the nature and value of the work. These may include checking identity, qualifications, professional memberships, references, reviews, insurance, licences, safeguarding arrangements, written quotations and contract terms.
3.3. You are responsible for agreeing the scope, price, timing and other terms of any services directly with the Professional.
3.4. You must provide accurate information when communicating with us and must not misuse the Website or interfere with another person’s use of it.
3.5. If you submit a Find a Service request, you must provide enough accurate information for us to understand it. You remain responsible for assessing any Professional we identify and deciding whether to contact or appoint them.
4. Business listings and accounts
4.1. A Business User must provide information that is accurate, current, lawful and not misleading. You must have the right to provide and publish all text, images, trade marks, contact information and other materials included in your Listing.
4.2. You must keep your account credentials secure and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authority.
4.3. A Listing must relate to a genuine business based in the United Kingdom. You must keep your Listing up to date, including information about your services, contact details, location, availability, travel coverage and any Plaza Perk.
4.4. A full business postcode supplied for location matching is kept private unless we expressly offer a separate public-address option and you choose it. We may display a broader location and use derived geographic coordinates to match the Listing with postcode searches.
4.5. If you offer a Plaza Perk, you are responsible for ensuring that its description, availability, redemption method, expiry date and conditions are accurate and honoured as published.
4.6. We may review, edit with an audit record, request changes to, decline, hide or remove a Listing where we reasonably believe that it is inaccurate, incomplete, unlawful, misleading, unsuitable for the directory, harmful to users or inconsistent with these Terms.
4.7. Approval is at our discretion. We do not guarantee that an application will be approved or that an approved Listing will remain published indefinitely.
5. Prohibited use and content
5.1. You must not use the Website to commit or facilitate an unlawful act; impersonate another person or business; submit fraudulent, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening or misleading material; infringe intellectual property or privacy rights; distribute malware; scrape or harvest data without permission; bypass security; or disrupt the Website.
5.2. Business Users must not publish claims that they cannot substantiate, fake qualifications, fabricated testimonials, unlawful offers or content that is unsafe or inappropriate for a general public directory.
5.3. You may report potentially unlawful or harmful content to admin@serviceplaza.co.uk. We will assess reports and may restrict content while investigating.
6. Intellectual property
6.1. The Website, Service Plaza branding, design, software and original content are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
6.2. You may use the Website for personal use or legitimate internal business use. You must not reproduce, sell, license, modify or commercially exploit a substantial part of the Website without our written permission.
6.3. You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, format, display and distribute that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, promote and improve Service Plaza and your Listing. This licence ends when the content is removed, except for copies reasonably retained in backups, audit records or as required by law.
7. Third-party websites and services
7.1. Listings may link to websites, social networks and services operated by third parties. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their availability, security, content, privacy practices or terms.
7.2. Following a link or contacting a Professional is at your discretion. You should read the third party’s own terms and privacy information.
8. Liability
8.1. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
8.2. If you are a consumer, you retain all rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.
8.3. We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
8.4. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, services, advice, representations, prices or contractual performance of a Professional. Any dispute concerning professional services must be addressed directly with that Professional, without limiting any legal rights you may have.
8.5. If you use the Website for business purposes, to the maximum extent permitted by law we exclude implied conditions, warranties and representations and will not be liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, anticipated savings, goodwill, reputation, data, or for indirect or consequential loss.
8.6. We do not guarantee that information supplied by users is complete or error-free, but this does not affect any responsibility we have for our own statements or conduct.
9. Privacy and cookies
9.1. We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy and use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookies Policy.
9.2. Business Users must ensure that any personal data they include in a Listing is provided lawfully and with any necessary permission.
9.3. We may send Business Users essential administrative and service communications about applications, accounts, Listings, security and service requests. These are separate from marketing communications.
9.4. The weekly Service Plaza Briefing forms part of the business Listing service. By submitting an application, a Business User agrees that we may add their account email address to the Briefing, which contains Service Plaza news and information, ideas and opportunities relating to running, marketing and promoting an independent business.
9.5. Each edition will provide a way to unsubscribe. Unsubscribing from the Briefing does not prevent essential administrative or requested-service communications.
10. Suspension and termination
10.1. You may stop using the Website at any time. A Business User may ask us to close an account or remove a Listing by contacting admin@serviceplaza.co.uk, subject to information we must retain for legal, security or audit purposes.
10.2. We may suspend access, restrict functionality or remove content where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, enforce these Terms or maintain the security and operation of the Website.
11. Complaints
11.1. If you have a complaint about Service Plaza or wish to report content, email admin@serviceplaza.co.uk with enough information for us to investigate.
11.2. We will aim to acknowledge and review complaints within a reasonable period. Complex matters may require additional information or time.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
12.1. These Terms, their subject matter and formation, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the law of England and Wales.
12.2. If you are a consumer resident in England or Wales, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in Scotland, you may bring proceedings in Scotland or England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in Northern Ireland or England and Wales.
12.3. If you use the Website in the course of a business, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
13. General
13.1. We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will apply from the date it is published. You should check this page periodically.
13.2. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, provided this does not reduce any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
13.3. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent.
13.4. No person other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
13.5. Each provision operates separately. If any provision is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
13.6. A delay in enforcing these Terms does not waive the right to enforce them later.
